| עבודתי מתבססת על התבוננות חוזרת ונשנית בכל סביבה בה אני נמצא, תוך איתור קומפוזיציות מעניינות קיימות. את הקומפוזיציה כפי שהיא אני מעלה על הניר או הבד תוך הדגשת ההיבטים המדברים אלי מהבחינה הצורנית או מבחינת הטקסטורה והצבע. התוצאה בכללותה היא פיגורטיבית כאשר יודעי ח"ן מזהים במידה מרשימה של דיוק זרמי עומק רגשיים שאני בכלל אינני מודע להם בעת תהליך היצירה. |

Myron Zoran - Short CV
I grew up in Haifa (Israel) in the 1950's and 60's. Haifa of those days was a city with an atmosphere more rural than urban, a city of natural beauty with the omnipresent and unspoilt Mount Carmel and the beautiful, unpolluted Mediterranean coastline.
As a youth I walked, trekked and explored the expanse of Mount Carmel and the Mediterranean coast. Another major interest of mine at the time was painting. These two activities, exploring and painting, have something in common, namely "the visual experience".
Then education took priority as I began studying biology and animal science, eventually working on fish-breeding research. Inevitably, painting took a back seat with short bursts of activity followed by decade-long periods of inaction. Lately, and especially after retiring from aquaculture research, I decided to intensify and expand my painting in order to discover whether it was worthwhile continuing and if so, in which direction and to what degree. Now, after a significant number of group exhibitions and several solo ones, the trend tends to a positive direction.
My work is based on recurrent observations of my surroundings, fixing on existing, visually appealing compositions; for example, a certain view or landscape from a particularly interesting or even personal angle; fascinating light-shadow interactions resulting from unique combinations of sunlight and cloud; or prosaic still-life items with intriguing changes resulting from corrosive processes. The composition as-is I apply to paper or canvas, emphasizing the visually interesting aspects from the point of view of shape, color or texture. The general result is figurative although some perceptive observers might recognize hidden layers and depths of which I was unaware during the creative process.
Since I retired, painting has become my main interest and activity. During this time, the areas that have engaged my painting attention have expanded from Still Lifes and the view from my home during the first year; Cityscapes of Haifa with The Stairs during the second year; and Landscapes, especially of Mount Carmel and the Galilee with its ancient olive trees, for the next two years, and lastlly – desert Landscapes.
